About the University
Can Tho University, commonly known as CTU, is a major public and multidisciplinary higher-education institution located in Can Tho City, Vietnam. Established on 31 March 1966, the university has developed into an important centre for education, scientific research, innovation, and technology transfer in the Mekong Delta region. It is also recognised by the Vietnamese government as one of the country’s key universities.
Can Tho University entered the QS World University Rankings 2026 in the 1201–1400 global band. In the subsequently published QS World University Rankings 2027, it was placed in the 1401+ band. Rankings should be considered alongside programme quality, facilities, research specialisation and career outcomes rather than used as the only basis for selecting a university.
