About the Research Group

Main Responsibilities

The postdoctoral researcher may be involved in:

  • Developing and analysing computational models and datasets
  • Writing and publishing high-impact scientific papers
  • Working on collaborative coding and research software projects
  • Supervising PhD researchers and Master’s students
  • Presenting research at international conferences
  • Collaborating with global research partners
  • Supporting academic teaching activities
  • Assisting in research funding proposals
  • Communicating research insights to industry, policymakers, and stakeholders
  • Following institutional academic and ethical standards

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should have:

  • A completed PhD in a relevant discipline, such as:
    • Computer Science
    • Data Science
    • Applied Mathematics
    • Physics
    • Economics
    • Engineering
    • Environmental Science
    • Climate Science
    • Energy Science
    • Other related fields involving computational methods
  • Strong programming experience
  • Knowledge of Python or R is preferred
  • Experience with computational modelling or research software development is an advantage
  • Familiarity with collaborative coding tools such as Git is desirable
  • Experience with energy systems modelling, scenario analysis, PyPSA, material flow analysis, or integrated assessment modelling will be an added advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Prior experience in scientific publication and academic presentations
